American Patriot Twist Pen
$74.00 | Made to Order | Ships in up to 2 weeks — because it's made for you, not pulled from a shelf
The Pen
This one started with a wine barrel.
The body is turned from White Oak salvaged from a retired barrel provided to me by John Braganini — owner of St. Julian Winery, one of the oldest wineries in Michigan, and a former MBA student of mine. That wood has a history before it ever got to my lathe. You can see it in the grain, feel it in the weight. No two are exactly alike, because no two pieces of that barrel are exactly alike.
The hardware is American through and through — a cast bald eagle on the clip, the American flag worked into the design, laurel leaves, a "God Bless America" band, and a USA medallion stamped into the cap end. Finished in bright chrome that catches the light the way a dress uniform does.
And the ink? I didn't cheap out. It comes loaded with a Schmidt P900 cartridge — high-quality steel tip, tungsten carbide ball point. Writes smooth. Really smooth. When you pick this up, it doesn't feel like a souvenir. It feels like a pen.

The person who's tired of giving — and receiving — gifts that end up in a drawer
